This lesson was not aimed to be the typical ‘ alcohol talk’ teenagers expect to receive from parents and teachers. Instead, I just wanted to show you some biology facts related to comsumption of alcohol and encourage you to think for yourselves and make informed choices.

It goes without saying that globalization can be felt every nook and cranny of the World. David Rixham (the speaker for the last session of English for Success Course) also mentioned same hints on Glocalization. A global product is altered in some manner in order to meet the appeal to local consumers. (wikipedia). For example a burger called the Maharaja Mac in India, and even a McSushi burger in Japan. The expression is very much used within the business world.

In terms of Global Language the debate around English leads us to question us on language associated with modernity, divergences from the Standard, and the reasons why it is predominant.

The classification that refers to the ESL/EFL has been put forward by Kachru (1985). This is the ‘three circles’ model.

The Inner Circle refers to the traditional cultural and linguistic bases of English. The Outer Circle represents the institutionalized non-native varieties (ESL) in the regions that have passed through extended periods of colonization . . . The Expanding Circle includes the regions where the performance varieties of the language are used essentially in EFL contexts.

The study of World Englishes consists of identifying varieties of English used in diverse sociolinguistic contexts globally and analyzing how sociolinguistic histories, multicultural backgrounds and contexts of function influence the use of English in different regions of the world.   Models of World Englishes  Wikipedia.  IAWE

The question is: Is control of English shifting away from British and American native speakers? Professor David Crystal video shows some examples where in the end the influence is enormous now that we are living in an Internet world.

The boundary of correction makes us think about to what extend sometimes we –as teachers-should admit some divergences from what it is known as the standard.

This third session of English for Success Course provided us not only lots of reflections on our lifes and World surrounded by gadgets but also the way our students are aware of the life they are living.

A digital world connects all of us and set the pace and determine the course of learning and definitely living.

Teachers involved in this Course showed abilities to cope with digital natives learning and proved themselves being  digital settlers or immigrants. Thank you!

Dentro del seminario de auto-formación del equipo asesor de nuestro centro tuvimos la oportunidad de disfrutar de una sesión de coaching educativo sobre la energía positiva y la actitud ante la vida en nuestro trabajo como asesores.

Es evidente que lo que mostramos a los demás, a tus compañeros, a tus alumnos y a tu familia puede afectarle de un modo u otro. Por lo tanto, el esfuerzo por tener esa actitud positiva tiene una influencia en ti mismo y en los demás. 

Las técnicas de coaching se basan en comprender tus sensaciones y en reestructurar las reacciones a los mismos. Nos viene muy bien como asesores pero también pueden implementarse estrategias similares entre los profesores y, no lo olvidemos, entre los alumnos.

He podido asistir a sesiones de coaching con profesores y la respuesta ha sido muy positiva pero en sesiones con alumnos la respuesta ha sido aun mejor. No cabe duda de que un grupo de alumnos en edades entre 12 y 18 años entienden las sesiones de coaching como un momento de reflexión entendiendo que lo que les sucede es algo normal y la diferencia tiene que ver con la manera de afrontar sus problemas y dificultades.

Este segundo trimestre el Centro de formación del Profesorado en Idiomas está coordinando seis cursos online que han tenido una muy buena aceptación. Un total de 401 docentes realizan formación online con nosotros este segundo trimestre. Los datos de alumnos admitidos son los siguientes:  

Es de destacar el interés entre nuestros docentes por la mejora de la lengua portuguesa lo que ha hecho que incrementemos el número de plazas en el nivel pre-intermedio 1.2. También es destacable el número de profesores que desean mejorar su nivel de francés avanzado B2 y C1 y su nivel de alemán avanzado B2.

Por otro lado, deseamos que los docentes comiencen a familiarizarse con el Proyecto Lingúístico de Centro de manera que se fomente el aprendizaje y mejora del aprendizaje de las Lenguas en los Centros escolares de nuestra comunidad.

Estos cursos comenzaron el 19 de febrero y finalizarán el 22 de abril. Gracias a lo docentes por confiar en nosotros para mejorar su formación en idiomas.

Living in a world where smart phones and other devices allow us to inmortalize every tiny space and moment , it is our perception what really counts.

Photography can show the world the way we are looking into. It can start up a different idea of the same topic

Creativity by images is not only a language but also a way of understanding the conjuction among Humans, Enviroment and Cultures.   A junction among languages . Expressing ideas byphotography can show the World from another dimension.

Education contains all these elements and they are offered for us to express, to communicate.

Probably many ideas arise after watching and going in depth during the session, the video and the resources presented at the course: thanks to an expert , David Lott  who helped broaden our minds

Safer Internet Day (SID) is organised by Insafe in February of each year to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially among children and young people across the world.

Safer Internet Day 2015 will be celebrated on Tuesday 10 February 2015, with the strapline, once again, of “Let’s create a better internet together” following the success of last year's campaign.

It will be celebrated the 2nd month, the second week and the second day. 

In Castilla y León we are going to train teachers and students about a good and Safe way to use Internet with the help of our teacher training centres, CFIE. 

We have also used twitter to promote this day with the hashtags #segconcyl and #dis2015cyl. 

We have promoted the use of technology for education and Internet is at dailiy teach for our students but we must promote its good use and educate students about its risks promoting the good points and preventing them from a wrong way of using it.

The Education Government of Castilla y León has created a platform to promote digital safety and confidence in the education environment. That's its webpage.

El miércoles 4 de febrero de 2015 tiene lugar en el CFIE de León, la SESIÓN PRESENCIAL  correspondiente al Curso 

BACHIBAC 2014-2015: CONCEVOIR DES FICHES PÉDAGOGIQUES

POUR L'ENSEIGNEMENT.

Esta actividad formativa se enmarca dentro del convenio de colaboración entre la Consejería de Educación y el Servicio de Cooperación y de Acción Cultural de la Embajada de Francia en España, complementando la formación anterior y profundizando en aspectos demandados por el profesorado encargado de llevar a estos alumnos de Bachillerato al éxito en sus pruebas específicas de doble titulación.

Cette activité de formation est le fruit d’une collaboration entre le Ministère de l'Éducation et le service de Coopération et d'Action Culturelle de l'Ambassade française en Espagne. Afin de répondre à une demande récurrente des enseignants des sections Bachibac, un programme de formation a été conçu pour en vue de favoriser la réussite des candidats aux épreuves spécifiques du double diplôme

Al final de esta formación específica Bachibac, los participantes serán capaces de registrar su enseñanza en un marco coherente: el entrenador.

Inicialmente, se analizarán una hoja modelo de enseñanza articular la enseñanza de la literatura, el lenguaje y la historia. Ellos serán capaces de identificar la estructura de una unidad didáctica y los objetivos de cada una de sus etapas.

A l’issue de l’atelier, les participants seront en mesure d’inscrire leur enseignement dans un cadre cohérent: l’unité didactique.

Dans un premier temps, ils analyseront une fiche pédagogique type articulant l’enseignement de la littérature, de la langue et de l’histoire. Ils pourront ainsi identifier la structure d’une unité didactique et les objectifs de chacune de ses étapes.

Durante los días 2 y 3 de febrero profesores de centros de Valladolid continúan con su formación enmarcada en la normativa publicada en Bocyl dentro el el proyecto de innovación educativa «INN_FOR_ME: Formación para la innovación metodológica»

La formación en coordinacion entre el CSFP y en este caso con el apoyo del CFIE de Valladolid y el CFPI se desarrolla tanto a nivel presencial como a través del trabajo colaborativo en la Plataforma del CSFP.

Queremos agradecer el entusiasmo y gran trabajo del equipo de profesores de los diferentes centros participantes en el desarrollo de las actividades y elaboración de futuros proyectos.

RESOLUCIÓN de 15 de octubre de 2014, de la Dirección General de Innovación Educativa y Formación del Profesorado, por la que se establece el proyecto de innovación educativa «INN_FOR_ME: Formación para la innovación metodológica» para el desarrollo de nuevas metodologías de formación permanente del profesorado en el campo de la innovación educativa durante el curso escolar 2014-15 (BOCYL 29 OCTUBRE 2014)

b) «Aula Innova: Metodologías para el aprendizaje», dirigida a equipos de profesores de los centros educativos, compuestos por un mínimo de dos y un máximo de cuatro profesores, de carácter provincial y estructurada en cuatro módulos:

– Módulo de formación presencial, en el que se trabajarán los contenidos básicos referentes a las claves para el diseño de tareas y selección de estrategias metodológicas, los principios del aprendizaje cooperativo, el aprendizaje basado en problemas, por proyectos, así como el marco y herramientas de evaluación del aprendizaje.

– Módulo de trabajo colaborativo en el aula virtual. Consiste en el intercambio y el aprendizaje en grupo y la ayuda en la resolución de dificultades y retos. Esta fase coincide en el tiempo con el módulo de aplicación y se completa con la reflexión final sobre las actuaciones realizadas y las competencias adquiridas, desarrollándose on-line a través del aula virtual del CSFP.

– Módulo de aplicación: Consiste en la experimentación, aprendizaje y aplicación práctica en el aula o en el campo educativo de la formación previa recibida en las metodologías planteadas en el punto anterior por parte de los participantes. Esta fase se llevará a cabo en el centro educativo de cada participante.

– Módulo presencial provincial de intercambio y difusión de buenas prácticas entre los participantes.

In order to develop  specific language resources for  implementing precise and natural communication in English in the classrooms and also for updating the understanding and communication processes properly in specific communication situations, teachers are being trained through ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOR SUCCESS, a course devoted to deal deeply with 4 different interesting topics connected to HEALTH AND SPORTS, PHOTOGRAPHY, DIGITAL WORLD AND GLOBAL CULTURE

The first session ended with a wonderful applause for the great ideas Petrina Moir gave us. Always welcome!
