The 12th and 13th of November we organised our last school exchange visit to the two High Schools in Valladolid.

The General Director of Innovation and Training MR LUIS DOMINGO GONZALEZ NÚÑEZ supported the project with his presence and welcomed our teachers.

The IES Arca Real is a high school located in a neighbourhood in Valladolid, the biggest city in Castilla y León. They have students from different backgrounds which supposes a great cultural enrichment.

One of the most important projects is the one which the school has with Castilla Leon Music Orchestra, OSCYL, thanks to which students from this High school can be trained by professional musicians and take part in the music scene of the region.

Furthermore, they focused on projects about science, art (theatre), music and vocational studies. Besides, they offer Chinese as one of the languages offered so they promote the enrichness of learning foreign languages.

During the visit, the headteachers of each school and other members of each leadership team had the chance to share how they are implementing shared leadership in their schools and the benefits it is generating for their school system.

Therefore the main focus was on the leadership team organization and aims and also the work done on STEM, e-safety and the innovative projects and methodology of the school.

In the workshop we presented the objectives achieved so far and the next steps. Every school had the chance to present their action plans to the rest of the High Schools. This was followed by a round table in which the schools exposed their impressions about the project and their opinion on how the philosophy of Shared Leadership of the project could continue in the future in Castilla y León.
