Next 5th (for Primary English teachers) and 12th (for Secondary English teachers) November we will have two face to face courses in Centro de Formación del Profesorado en Idiomas concerning Attention to Diversity in the English classroom with two expert speakers: Ani Páez (Primary) and María José Prieto (Secondary).

Taking into account that inclusion is a fundamental principle of education in our classrooms, it is necessary to attend the Specific Educational Needs of our students in the English area. It requires training in active and innovative methodologies and the development of a curriculum that respects the characteristics of the Universal Design of Learning (UDL) in order to respond to the needs of every student. Inclusion is an increasing concern not only in the English as a Foreign Language class, but also in bilingual studies.

Objectives:

1.- To get to know different Special Educational Needs that we can find in the classroom and their characteristics.
2.- To get familiar with innovative methodologies to attend diversity in the English classroom.
3.- To learn to adapt activities and materials in order to work with students with Special Educational Needs in the English classroom.
4.- To foster inclusion of students with Special Educational Needs in the English classroom.

Contents:

2.- Active and innovative methodologies for attention to diversity in the English classroom.
3.- Adaptation of materials, resources and activities based on active methodologies and on the Universal Design of Learning (UDL) in the English classroom.
