The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe and, increasingly, in other countries. The six reference levels are becoming widely accepted as the European standard for grading an individual's language profienciency.
If you are thinking of taking up the exams to obtain a C1, or another level certification, there are several options you can choose.
First of all, Cambridge English Language offers a simple explanation of the CEFR levels.
This organism, along with Trinity College, offer their own level certifications which have an equivalence on the levels of CEFR.
Other international certifications, like IELTS or TEOFL, can also give you the opportunity to make the exams to reach out your target level of English.

You can choose to take face to face or online courses and exams in all of these organisms. In Spain, the Official School of Languages provides face to face courses in all different levels to obtain your certifications all over the country.
Each website has a wide range of exercises to practice the different skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking, and the sample tests are also very useful.
